Conor Coady, a center back for England, has been loaned to Everton for the entire season.

Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina suffered injuries in Everton’s loss to Chelsea in their Premier League debut on Saturday.

“I was very interested in participating as soon as I heard about it. The Merseyside native Coady declared, “I’m over the moon to join.

It’s a crucial day and a proud day for me, the 29-year-old said, adding that he was “desperate” to join.

“I know how large it is and I know the love people have for Everton,” Coady said to EvertonTV.

“I’ll give this football team everything, every single day. I feel honored and fortunate to have been given this chance.

Coady is Everton’s fourth summer acquisition, joining defender Ruben Vinagre from Wolves, forward Dwight McNeil and center-back James Tarkowski from Burnley.

In addition to being an England international and one of the Premier League’s most dependable defenders, his leadership abilities will be a tremendous asset to the team, according to Everton manager Frank Lampard.

Coady joined Wolves from Huddersfield and played in more than 300 matches over the course of seven seasons.

The Wolves’ opening match of the year against Leeds featured the Liverpool academy product on the bench because manager Bruno Lage preferred Max Kilman and Nathan Collins in center defense.

Coady has been a “faithful servant,” according to Wolves chairman Jeff Shi, and a “integral element of our success.”

Shi said, “Due to his commitment to Wolves throughout that time, we have decided not to obstruct his desire to play football elsewhere, and we send him go with our best wishes.

“Despite the fact that it may be emotionally tough to part ways after everything we have gone through together, it is crucial for me to consider the big picture and make difficult choices.

“Conor deserves a tremendous thank you for everything he has accomplished at Wolves and for being a terrific person both on and off the field,” the speaker said.
