Juan Mata’s transfer to Leeds United becomes a priority as the former Manchester United star declines other “significant offers.”

Juan Mata’s summer transfer to Leeds United is thought to be the most likely outcome after he turned down numerous “significant offers” from other teams.

During his eight and a half year stay at Manchester United, Mata made 285 appearances, scoring 51 goals and dishing out 47 assists. The offensive midfielder’s contract with Manchester United expired earlier this summer, making him a free agent at the moment.

Leeds and Mata were reportedly in negotiations in July, according to the Spanish source AS, about a sudden move to Elland Road.

The player’s support group seemed eager to make the transfer happen. And Mata is prepared to forego a big wage raise to support Jesse Marsch.

He made £160,000 a week at Man Utd. The playmaker will have to settle for at least 50% less if he wants to sign because Leeds are unable to pay this.

According to CaughtOffside, an update is given by the Spanish publication Marca. They assert that Mata had offers from the Major League Soccer and some “exotic” nations.

He does, however, intend to stay in Europe for at least a few more seasons. Due of this, these “essential offers”

In the coming weeks, Mata’s destiny will be decided, according to Marca. Although other teams will probably make a play for the Spaniard, Leeds are in a great position because they are his top choice in terms of transfers.

Even if Mata is past his prime, a transfer to the West Yorkshire club would be fascinating.

Mata has won numerous prestigious awards over his spectacular career, including the World Cup, European Championship, and Champions League.

The seasoned star would be a welcome addition to the locker room. If he is benched, he never creates issues. Additionally, he would be able to work with players like Brenden Aaronson and Luis Sinisterra to improve their skills.

The playmaker’s latter years at Old Trafford were relegated to infrequent substitute appearances. And while Mata won’t play in every Leeds game, he’ll probably see more action for the Whites.

To make the transfer happen, Leeds manager Victor Orta simply needs to satisfy Mata’s criteria. This includes a respectable salary that will last for two years and be in the range of £70k to £80k per week. Mata wants to play at the highest level for this amount of time before maybe retiring or joining the MLS.

Arnaud Kalimuendo may join Mata at Leeds in the meantime, since PSG decided to sell the French striker.
